Garmr Cane Corso is Erik Robertson and Kristina Thorson, located in Martinez, CA. When the two bought their first home, Erik and his Great Dane, Hadda, were reunited now that there was space for her (she was previously being loved and cared for by his parents in Southern California). The two quickly decided to get another dog to keep Hadda company while they were at work.
Erik just assumed to get another Dane since that's what his family was always partial to growing up, but Kristina wanted to explore other large breeds as well. Having remembered a former teammate's Cane Corso, Kristina showed Erik pictures of the breed and quickly caught his eye. After doing some research on reputable Corso breeders, the two were led to Gabriel & Alexia Rodriguez of Potrero Cane Corso, located only about an hour away from them in Northern California. After attending one of Gabe and Alexia's famous "Family Puppy Days," Erik and Kristina decided then and there they wanted to bring a Corso into their family, and were added to Potrero's wait list.
Not long after, Alexia placed the two with a female puppy (Læfa, pictured right) that would be the best match for them and Hadda based on their temperament testing and vast experience. It was a match made in Valhalla! Erik and Kristina stayed in close contact with Gabe and Alexia, who quickly becoming good friends and mentors. After Læfa began to develop into a stunning bitch skilled at both Canine Circus School and Agility classes, Gabe and Alexia convinced Erik and Kristina to show her in Conformation dog shows. Læfa was a natural in the ring, enjoying every second of showing and earned her championship in no time.
At this point, Erik and Kristina were "all in" on the Cane Corso breed, and agreed to breed Læfa with Potrero's Rivale Shogun BH (who made a huge first impression on Erik at their first Potrero Family Puppy Day). This litter led to their second Corso, and eventually to the couple choosing to start their own kennel.
